Here is why Google is always Smarter than Bing

Today morning I read an article in a reputed digital marketing news website about Bing becoming a top referrer for some publishers and marketers who are loving it. This made my Monday start with a big laugh instead of Blues.

Everybody writes only success stories but not failure ones, I started my blog a couple of months back with great intention to share the best Marketing lessons and technology trends for marketers. On the search engine front, all my pages are very much indexed in the Google search console but not on Bing, and when I started investigating more in crawl and index issues on Bing webmaster I found a lot of gaps! Below are the reasons why Bing can’t be smarter anytime soon not just by integrating ChatGPT into their outdated ranking process.

Reason 1: Bing expects you to add H1 on all pages for indexing (Their SEO report says missing H1 is High severity issue and doesn’t crawl the pages)

We are in the world of indexing websites on the basis of content quality, and layout structure like Core Web Vitals, and E-A-T. Still, Bing crawls on the basis of the basis H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, etc.., To my surprise, Bing’s algorithm is being used by DuckDuckGo because both search engines can index LinkedIn posts for SERP but not the webpage of my domain site.

Why does this special indexing preference need to be given for LinkedIn on SERP just because MS owns it? I didn’t expect DuckDuckGo will copy paste the same SERP that Bing shows 😉 Sorry, your fake privacy mask is revealed.

Reason 2: IndexNow is bullshit

I used their IndexNow WP Plugin which shows all my pages are submitted and Bing webmaster dashboard shows 5 pages indexed but they don’t give a report on which pages are indexed. Yes, I did a little deeper analysis of all my 27 pages manually as “Site:digitalmarketingbaba24.com” and nothing popped up. So technically no pages are indexed. Here comes the fun fact “Site explore” feature in Bing webmaster shows 7 pages are indexed under which only 3 pages pop up on its report section. Thanks to the Bing webmaster for working hard to build this great and awesome marketer-friendly platform.

Reason – 3: Slothy Bing Data puller for its Dashboard

After 5 pages are indexed before a month, Bing is not able to pull out the data

Google Search Console gives perfect data for the article posted a few days back

Reason – 4: Never responding support team

I wrote an email to hear from the Bing team about the reason for pulling my website our from their search results, looks like their team is busy training ChatGPT for the last two months instead of solving publishers’ / Marketers’ queries. At least have some courtesy to index your own basic FAQs and Discussion forum answers in Bing.

After reading all my above points Bing may permanently penalize my website from crawling/indexing in their search engine, but I or my website either don’t want to appear on a platform that doesn’t function the way it should.

Thank you Microsoft and Bing, Keep acquiring and killing the best products.
